Common contact allergens

Aeroallergens (such as polishes), conditioners, cosmetics, deodorants, detergents, dust mites, elastoplasts and lanolin derivatives, fragrances, hair dyes, house dust, insecticides, latex, medicated creams and ointments, metals or metal alloys such as gold, silver and nickel found in jewellery or zippers, moulds, nasal sprays, perfumes, plastic or dyestuffs from steering wheels,  plants such as poison ivy, rubber, shampoos, soaps, synthetic resins, toothpastes.

  

Other

Cold or hot weather, a dry atmosphere, stress, infections such as colds and lowered immunity can exacerbate eczema.  Interestingly, playing video games and mobile phone use has been shown to increase allergic responses in some people with eczema.
